Brent and I got in contact last November. He gave me a call and told me about his awesome plan to take a weekend ski trip with his girlfriend Liza and wanted to propose to her. Any surprise proposal is fun to help with, but this one got even better when he mentioned the location. He said they were staying at a unique Airbnb, so I asked right away if it was the Burley Flower Pot. When he said yes, I got pretty excited. I had driven by that place a handful of times and always thought it would be a fun spot for photos, so I was glad to finally see the inside as a Burley engagement photographer.

He also asked if I would be willing to pick up a bouquet from a local flower shop and drop it off at the Airbnb the day before they arrived. The plan was for Liza to walk in, see the flowers, turn around, and find Brent down on one knee. Hard to say no to that. Everything came together after a lot of back and forth, a few last minute texts about timing, and making sure nobody showed up at the wrong time.

A couple months later I got the text I was waiting for. She said yes. I made the short drive to the farmland south of town to meet them in person for the first time. The Burley wind had other plans for us, so instead of heading to a second location we stayed at the Flower Pot Airbnb for the whole session. The window light inside was perfect, and the place has just enough character to make photos feel different without trying too hard.

Moments like this are why I enjoy being a Burley engagement photographer.
